THE LEUTHOLD GROUP TO OFFER NEW MUTUAL FUNDS

The Leuthold Group, due to the fact that it has closed its Leuthold Core and Selected Sector Funds as of March 31st of this year, will be offering two new funds: the Leuthold Asset Allocation Fund and the Leuthold Selected Equities Fund. The funds are expected to become available to investors sometime late in the second quarter or early in the third quarter. Currently, the funds are going through the SEC’s registration process. The new funds are going to offer a new stock selection methodology which the Leuthold Group has been running internally since 2003.

The reason the Leuthold Core and Selected Sectors Funds were closed was that the Leuthold Group felt that, due to their asset sizes of each fund, their existing stock selection process was becoming difficult for them to buy into and sell out of quickly, which is key to their stock selection process. In other words, the Funds were getting to the point where, in the future, it may be difficult for them to execute trades effectively while not moving prices of the equities they are buying and selling.

We believe that this was a very prudent move from the Leuthold Group's standpoint, which favors their existing shareholders. We look forward to the new fund offerings and will be providing more details and our thoughts on them as more information becomes available
